WhiteBox Orphaned Works System

Resolution mechanism for works with unknown or disputed ownership

What is the WhiteBox System?

The WhiteBox is a temporary holding system for copyrights with unknown, disputed, or unclear ownership. It protects royalties until legitimate owners can prove their rights and claim them.

Why the WhiteBox System Exists

Protect Royalties

Unclaimed royalties accumulate safely until rightful owners claim them

Resolve Disputes

Provides a mechanism for disputed ownership cases

Legacy Works

Handles historical works with deceased or unknown creators

Anonymous Works

Manages pseudonymous or anonymous creations

Common WhiteBox Scenarios

Orphaned Works

Works where the original creator is deceased or cannot be located. Heirs or estate representatives can claim with proper documentation.

Disputed Ownership

Multiple parties claim ownership. The WhiteBox holds royalties until the investigation module resolves the dispute.

International Works

Works registered internationally without local registration. Original creators can claim once verified.

Anonymous/Pseudonymous Works

Works published under pen names or anonymously. Original creators can reveal identity and claim ownership.

How the WhiteBox Works

1. Work Registered with WhiteBox ID

When ownership is uncertain, the work is registered with the special WhiteBox ID instead of a specific wallet address.

2. Royalties Accumulate

All royalties for the work accumulate in the WhiteBoxPoolV9_V2 smart contract. No funds are lost.

3. Legitimate Owner Files Claim

The rightful owner submits a claim through the Dashboard with supporting evidence and documentation.

4. Investigation & Verification

The InvestigationModuleV9 reviews the claim, verifies evidence, and validates ownership.

5. Ownership Transfer

Upon successful verification, ownership transfers to the proven owner and accumulated royalties are released.

Important Notes

WhiteBox Guidelines

  • Claims require substantial proof - insufficient evidence will be rejected
  • Fraudulent claims may result in legal action and platform ban
  • Royalties accumulate indefinitely - no time limit to claim
  • Multiple claims trigger investigation - strongest evidence wins
